Hey,

A few thoughts from this week.

The Next Era of AI Coding Is About Quality

The first phase of AI development was obsessed with speed.

How quickly can we generate a feature? How much code can we produce? How many hours can we save?

That speed has now become normal.

The next advantage comes from the system surrounding the AI.

When your codebase has clear architecture, consistent conventions, reusable context, automated checks, and good tests, the AI doesn’t start from zero every time. It operates inside a system designed to produce clean code.

A messy system helps you create messy code faster.

A clean system, combined with AI and automation, gives you both speed and quality. You produce clean code quickly because the standards are already built into the process.

That’s where I think the next era of AI development is heading.

The engineer’s role is no longer just writing the implementation. It’s building the system that makes good output repeatable.

Build Your Opinion From Reality

There’s a lot of talk about the software market being dead.

And yes, it’s harder than it used to be.

But it’s easy to absorb the general mood of the internet and turn it into your personal reality without testing it.

Track your actual funnel: applications sent, replies received, interviews booked, where processes stop, and which questions keep appearing.

Those numbers show you what’s working, where you’re getting stuck, and what you should improve next.

The market narrative doesn’t.

What One Interview Tracker Revealed

Something cool happened during yesterday’s community call.

One member opened his interview tracker and noticed that he had already attended as many interviews in 2026 as during 2023, 2024, and 2025 combined.

He also entered four new interview processes since late June.

That led to a really useful conversation about repeated questions, confidence, and building an Interview Bank from every process you enter.

It was cool to watch real data challenge the idea that nothing is happening in the market.

That’s the kind of work we’re doing inside the community: honest conversations, real numbers, and concrete things you can use immediately.

Talk soon.
